Kanye West’s minimalist chic former Manhattan apartment is back on the market for $4.7m, just one year after the rapper sold the home for $3m.

The star’s former abode in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood – which he lived in on and off from 2004 until last year – offers 2,427 square feet of living space and features one bedroom, one and a half bathrooms, French limestone floors and sweeping city views.

The Gold Digger hitmaker, 42, first snatched up a 1,589 square foot unit, complete with two bedrooms, for $1.89m back in 2004 – when he broke through into the mainstream music scene with his album, The College Dropout.

In early 2006, he bought a second unit – an 838 square foot studio- for $1.25m, before combining the two into a mammoth one bedroom apartment – and spending $3.14m in total.

With his life transforming in the last seven years, with his marriage to Kim Kardashian and the arrival of the couple’s children, the star sold the apartment to a private equity firm in a $3m deal.

Enlisting the help of Italian architect and designer Claudio Silvestrin, who is famed for his minimalist style, Kanye transformed the apartment into a chic and elegant space, with pared back decor and colour schemes. The star’s Yeezy Season 2 collection was reportedly inspired by Silvestrin’s simple style.

The stunning home, listed by Emily Beare of CORE Real Estate, features 10-foot ceilings, custom lighting and audio, heated floors and a spacious master suite.

The musician’s signature style can be seen in every room of the home, with simple white and cream hues dominating the pad.

Despite its minimalist vibe, the space still features plenty of luxuries, including pearwood cabinets, automatic window shades and floors of French limestone.

It also includes a powder room and features a washer and dryer within the unit.

Both the kitchen and bathroom feature large stone islands, and the bedroom includes a sizable walk-in closet.

Kanye and Kim, 38, currently live in a similarly minimalist mansion in Calabasas, California, though for years they kept its interior design out of the public eye.

It wasn’t until the Monster rapper tweeted out photos of their home that the couple began sharing greater glimpses into their home.

Kim and Kanye worked with Belgian architect Axel Vervoordt to remodel the home in 2017, and they moved into the redone space in December of that year.

While out of the house, their family took up residence with Kim’s mother Kris Jenner.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Kanye had purchased an enormous 4,500 square-foot ranch in Cody, Wyoming, only about 50 miles from Yellowstone National Park.

He previously spent time in the Equality State in 2018 while recording his mini-album Ye in Jackson Hole.
