Ten: Jarrod Guy Randolph on Finding Inspiration and His Favorite Things

Welcome to Ten, CORE founder and CEO Shaun Osher’s rapid-fire interview series with prominent CORE figures. Read on to find out how this week’s subject deals with being on the hot seat.

Having entered the real estate industry at a young age, Jarrod Guy Randolph has experience and wisdom far beyond his (soon to be) 30 years. Known for his charisma and hard work ethic, Jarrod has quickly risen to the top of the industry, while also maintaining close relationships with his clients along the way. Now at the height of his career, Jarrod shows no signs of slowing down. Here are Jarrod’s answers to Ten questions:

1) What did you do before you found this career?Jarrod

If I decide to explore another career, I can always go back and work at Soccer Corner in Bucks County, PA. Other than that, I’ve been in real estate ever since I worked for a star broker in PA at 16 years old.

2) What has been the highlight of your career?

Being nominated to Forbes’30 Under 30” list for my accomplishments in real estate is by far the greatest highlight. The nomination created some pressure to perform, which I loved. It made me work that much harder and now my career is stronger than ever.

3) What is your greatest daily challenge?

My greatest daily challenge is deciding what to eat for lunch. I’m on 61st and Madison and there are way too many awesome lunch options. I love to eat!

4) Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Managing my own personal real estate investment portfolio while continuing to consult for private clients.

5) Where do you find inspiration?

My friends are my greatest inspiration. They are smart, successful and loving. They’re my family and take great care of me. I have grown exponentially because of their guidance in business and my personal life.

6) Name one thing we might not know about you.

I hate shopping. When I have to buy something, going into a store is a nightmare no matter how luxurious it is. I definitely prefer sweatpants and a t-shirt over a suit.

7) What’s your favorite movie or book?

My most recent read was “Who’s Afraid of Post Blackness” by Toure. His critique on blacks in America was insightful and defining. It’s a great read for anyone.

8) What do you do in your free time?

I’m a little obsessed with working out. I like to hit the gym early in the morning for cardio then again at night to lift. It’s my sanctuary and gives me a chance to clear my mind and regroup.

9) What’s your favorite restaurant?

It’s a toss-up between BLT and Billy’s Bakery. Yeah, I know they don’t equate, but I love bacon cheeseburgers and cupcakes!

10) Tell me something about your home.

My taste is a mix between modern and traditional. I have a lot of Baker furniture mixed with Design Within Reach. But my eclectic taste has led to too many purchases and half of them now live in a huge storage unit in Long Island City.
