Zwickel Smashes LIC Townhouse Records

It’s been a banner week for CORE.

Just after Brooklyn expert Doug Bowen set new price-per-square-foot records for Clinton Hill, Doron Zwickel smashed townhouse records in Long Island City.

Perfectly positioned to break records, 531 51st Avenue in Long Island City was listed for $3,250,000 and sold for $3 million. New York Daily News got the exclusive scoop on this record-breaking sale:

All the attention in real estate circles has been on the shiny, new apartment towers popping up all over Long Island City.

But the real action is taking place behind the walls of a century-old rowhouse in the Queens waterfront hood.

The five-story, six-bedroom home at 531 51st Ave. just sold for $3 million — smashing neighborhood records for a single-family home.

No property had even broken the $1.5-million threshold, records show.

The 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom, 21 foot brownstone is set up as a 3,100-square foot triplex in addition to a potential 1,030-square foot, income-producing penthouse apartment on the building’s upper floor. Read the entire Daily News article here.
