When people think of Midtown, images of theaters, neon lights and tourists are evoked. But the area is also home to swaths of New Yorkers who want to be where the action is, but still have a comfortable place to call their own. Here are three of our favorites in the neighborhood.
Where: 247 West 46th Street, #1203
Size: 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom
Asking: $1,960,000

Totally fresh and contemporary, we love this home for bringing the grand proportions typically reserved for much larger homes to a two-bedroom layout. Situated right on 46th Street, this unit is in The Platinum condominium, one of the neighborhood’s top buildings. Designed by renowned architect Costas Kondylis, the building is like a resort, featuring a common landscaped terrace with cabanas and stone fireplace, and amenities like a 6,000-square foot lounge with a fitness center, yoga studios, sauna, spa treatment room and game room.
Where: 415 East 52nd Street, #7-LC
Size: 2 bedroom/2 bathroom
Asking: $1,060,000
Listed by: Michael Graves
Midtown East is home to some of the most picturesque streets and well-regarded buildings in the entire city. Walking a few blocks towards the East River leads you to an oasis in the city, and this two bedroom in the full-service Sutton House co-op is well priced and right off iconic Sutton Place. The area has an old-world, art-loving feel, as does this apartment.
Where: 100 West 57th Street, #7-E
Size: 2 bedroom/2 bathroom
Price: $895,000

If you haven’t noticed, we’ve slowly been heading north on our tour of Midtown. Living in Midtown can mean a myriad of things, and in the case of this two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at Carnegie House on 57th Street, it means easy access to nearby Central Park and cultural landmarks like, naturally, Carnegie Hall. This place is awaiting a personal touch, but there are great bones to work with, including a formal entry foyer and gracious hallway separating the private quarters.
