Ten: Keren Ringler on the Importance of Integrity

Agents, Shaun's Soapbox // Jul 03, 2013

Welcome to Ten, CORE founder and CEO Shaun Osher‘s rapid-fire interview series with prominent CORE figures. Read on to find out how this week’s subject deals with being on the hot seat.

After joining CORE a few months ago, Keren Ringler‘s professional experience and attention to detail has continued to set her apart in the Manhattan real estate industry. With a multi-faceted background thus far, she brings a unique level of professionalism to CORE, rooted in the values of integrity and honesty.  Here are Keren’s answers to Ten questions:

KAR

1) How has your South African upbringing shaped the way you conduct business?

My upbringing was traditional and taught me strong values, hard work and perseverance. Treating people honestly and with respect; these values definitely influence the way I conduct business.

2) What sparked your interest in real estate?

My mother worked in commercial real estate for many years and I was always fascinated by the “art of the deal.” I was also interested in the opportunity to work and interact with people.

3) How does your background in Medical Science help your business?

Of course the subject matter is entirely different, but my background has helped enormously with my research skills, as well as my attention to detail. The ability to see things to conclusion: sticking to something, not giving up and doing the best job possible are some things that years of doing experiments have taught me. My background also helps me work as a team; I believe every transaction is a partnership not only when dealing with clients or customers, but also when working with my co-brokers and seeing a transaction through to completion.

4) What are some of your goals, either professional or personal?

Most importantly, to believe in our future. To continue to grow my business. To remain on top of the game. To move with the times and constantly be creative and innovative in my approach.

5) What is your most memorable deal and why?

By succeeding to reverse a board turn down in a very complicated deal with lots of moving parts. This resulted in my getting an award for The Deal of the Year.

6) What differentiates you from other brokers?

My accent!

7) What do you admire most in a person?

The most important quality is integrity, someone who conducts his or herself with a fiercely vigorous moral code.

8) How would you like to be remembered?

That I am an honest, knowledgeable and efficient broker; that I care about the decision that my clients and customers make as I understand its impact on their lives. I would like to be remembered as the broker who was there all the way, who guided and helped her customers and clients make the best choice and the most solid investment possible.

9) Where do you find inspiration?

My family inspired me through their love and support of both the human and business aspect of my profession.

10) Do you have a question for me?

What is the key to success?

My perseverance and stubbornness not to be dissuaded when things don’t work out. I have also learned to embrace failure as a learning experience and not as a road block.
