Ten: Julia Cole on Luxury and Inspiration

Welcome to Ten, CORE founder and CEO Shaun Osher’s rapid-fire interview series with prominent CORE figures. Read on to find out how this week’s subject deals with being on the hot seat.

julia_cole

Julia Cole is a real estate agent who has great experience with luxury. Having previously worked in the fashion industry, native New Yorker Julia knows quality when she sees it. Her past experiences in this profession, as well as her time spent living in Paris and Italy, allow her to offer her wide range of clients from various cultures the best experience in finding a home. Here’s a glimpse into other facts about Julia and her life in and outside of CORE:

1. What did you do before you found this career?

I was in the corporate fashion world in sales and merchandising.

2. What has been the highlight of your career?

Every day is a new adventure; the highlight is waking up every morning and loving my job. I particularly love interacting with people from all walks of life; I recently worked with a notable rock star and really enjoyed his stories of life on the road.

3. What is your greatest daily challenge?

My greatest daily challenge is not having a consistent routine. I came from a corporate background where I had defined hours and a job description. Every day in Real Estate is different but although it’s a challenge, that’s also what makes it so thrilling.

4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In ten years, I will have built a solid and identifiable brand as a real estate broker. I hope to have a wonderful network of interesting people that I can call my clients and my friends.

5. Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in everything around me; people, art, culture, Manhattan! At the core, I am a fashion enthusiast, so new designers, vintage shops and obscure editorial are a creative outlet for me.

6. Name one thing we might not know about you.

I practice yoga and meditation religiously. The yogi perspective is refreshing; I find much peace and serenity in the practice.

7. What’s your favorite movie or book?

My favorite book is The Picture of Dorian Gray; Oscar Wilde was a genius with a very amusing sense of humor.

8. What do you do in your free time?

I love checking out new exhibitions, street art and off-Broadway shows. New York has so much artistic flavor; it’s a crime to not be submerged into the culture all around us.

9. What’s your favorite restaurant?

I have so many…I love Mari Vanna; it’s a Great Russian restaurant in Gramercy.

10. Tell me something about your home.

I have shoes in my kitchen cabinets!
