Ten: Dana Karson on being a Rising Real Estate Star

Welcome to Ten, CORE founder and CEO Shaun Osher’s rapid-fire interview series with prominent CORE figures. Read on to find out how this week’s subject deals with being in the hot seat.

Dana Karson is a part of CORE’s super-broker team Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon, but is also becoming a star in her own right.Hailing from a real estate family, Dana has naturally stepped into the role of catering to the most discerning luxury clientele.Sure to be one to watch, here are Dana’s answers to Ten questions:

1. What did you do before you found this career?

I got a job in advertising straight out of college. I worked for the largest pharmaceutical advertising agency in the City. It was a great experience, but I learned quickly that it wasn’t for me.

What is your greatest daily challenge?

Looking very young. Most women would say I am very lucky, but in this business, it is definitely a challenge I face every day. Knowledge trumps all though!

4. Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Being one of the top brokers in Manhattan.

5. Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration just exploring this amazing City every day; walking the streets and seeing all of the incredible architecture, visiting new apartments and buildings, and surrounding myself with interesting people.

6. Name one thing we might not know about you.

Reality television is my guilty pleasure.

7. What’s your favorite movie or book?

My favorite movie would have to be Shawshank Redemption. It is such a remarkable story.

8. What do you do in your free time?

I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I am a spin fanatic. I also love traveling and going to movies and concerts.

9. What’s your favorite restaurant?

Tough question, but I would have to say Koi. I have been going for years and the food never disappoints. Best crispy rice in the City!

10. Tell me something about your home.

I am extremely meticulous and you will never find a thing out of place.
