Agents // Jul 09, 2014

Welcome to Ten, CORE founder and CEO Shaun Osher’s rapid-fire interview series with prominent CORE figures. Read on to find out how this week’s subject deals with being on the hot seat.

An integral component of the Patrick Lilly Team, Andres Emilio Soto‘s passionate approach to real estate is highly-regarded among his peers and clients alike. When not busy overseeing a new deal, he often finds contentment in the little things. Here are Andres’ answers to Ten questions:

1. What did you do before you found this career? Andres Soto TEN
Before joining The Patrick Lilly Team, I worked as an office manager for a boutique real estate company, alongside one of New York City’s most prolific brokers.

2. What has been the highlight of your career?
The highlight of my career was when I managed my first deal in Long Island City. It was a very special moment for me because I love the borough of Queens, the neighborhood and mainly because my client got an amazing deal! Overall, it was a “win.”

3. What is your greatest daily challenge?
Staying focused in order to achieve my clients’ goals. I’m introduced to new challenges everyday, which force me to think on my toes and analyze every scenario. This industry always offers unique and exciting learning experiences that push me to grow professionally.

4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope to see myself teaching my child how to play soccer. First step towards that goal? Finding a girlfriend!

5. Where do you find inspiration?
Podcasts and working out. I learn so much by listening to famous professionals throughout the world speak about their successes and, most importantly, their failures. Working out helps me burn off the weekly stress. This balance helps inspire me to reach my goals.

6. Name one thing we might not know about you.
I am an avid soccer player and love to play anytime I can. I currently play for a league called PS2G (Play Soccer 2 Give) which aims to financially support and raise awareness for soccer charities that are positively affecting the lives of children and acting as catalysts for social change.

7. What’s your favorite movie or book?
As far as movies, “Star Wars,” hands down. My favorite book is “Lord of the Rings.” Yes, I’m a sci-fi geek.

8. What do you do in your free time?
When I have free time, I spend it with my lovely Border Collie mutt, Ayana. She loves spending time at the park chasing squirrels.

9. What’s your favorite restaurant?
That depends on my mood but if I had to choose one, Tournesol in Long Island City.

10. Tell me something about your home.
My home is not some extravagant loft with killer views. It’s a perfect home for my dog and I to relax in. That’s what makes it awesome.
