Market Update Monday: Good Design Stands The Test of Time

As Billionaire’s Row continues to generate headlines for being home to some of Manhattan’s most expensive real estate right now, interest in 15 Central Park West prevails. The luxury condominium tower designed by famed architect Robert A.M. Stern is home to sports stars, financiers and Hollywood royalty. It boasts incredible Central Park views, a large fitness center and a private residents-only restaurant.

Even with record sales over the past year for high-priced apartment transactions, One57 sales have slowed while 15 Central Park West has seen a consistent number of high-profile trades as of late, at an average of over $6,000 per square foot. With each emerging high rise along the Central Park corridor come seemingly bigger and better amenities. But, at what point do we acknowledge that the only true defining feature set to stand the test of time of New York’s most sought after buildings is classic and timeless design? In this case, Stern’s 15 Central Park West can’t be beat.
