One of Manhattan’s best qualities is its unique and varied neighborhoods. ‘Life in’ provides a taste of New York City’s distinct sub-cultures to help you find the perfect place to call home.

A considerable portion of Manhattan’s famed Upper East Side, 10065 combines the classic charm of townhouses with upscale doorman high-rises. Anchored by Central Park to the west, the East River to the east and Midtown to the south, 10065 has a chic and elegant beauty unmatched by any other neighborhood in the city.

Preferred by locals due to its distance from a noisier and sometimes grungier downtown atmosphere, 10065 is abuzz with ladies who lunch and their families, with a sprinkle of young professionals and recent graduates. Home to CORE’s Madison office, the picturesque area offers some of the city’s most impressive architecture and designer boutiques.

With so much ground to cover, it’s always best to get your adrenaline going early at Flywheel, Equinox, or by enjoying a long quiet run around the park. Don’t forget to refuel afterwards at Juice Press or Juice Generation. But if a sit-down recovery is more your style, enjoy a posh brunch at Norma’s in Le Parker Meridien or Sarabeth’s, a true Upper East Side staple. And when you’ve finally succumbed to your need for coffee – if you haven’t already – pop into the long-running Viande coffee shop.

If you’re not taking an Uber downtown to work, enjoy some of the best retail therapy Manhattan has to offer. Barney’s New York, Chanel and Hermes are a few favorites. And if you find that your shopping bags are weighing you down, perk up while unleashing your inner child at the sweetest spot in town: Dylan’s Candy Bar.

Indulge in the arts at one of many fine art galleries and museums that are dispersed throughout the neighborhood. With such a variety within close proximity, it’s easy to gallery-hop for hours on end. And maybe even pop over to The Regency Bar & Grille at the Loews Regency Hotel for an afternoon tea or cocktail.

And to feel like a true Upper East Sider, end the day with the ultimate dining experience at Daniel Boulud’s elegant (and jacket required) French flagship Daniel, or classic hotspot Seraphina.

Through the years the Upper East Side has become seemingly less uptight, while still holding on to its traditional and classy old New York vibe. And for this reason among many others, 10065 is the perfect spot to call home if you’re after more space and impeccable taste.
