Dwell Diaries provides a peek at a “day-in-the-life” in one of CORE’s exclusive listings. From master suites to neighborhood hotspots, our diary doesn’t spare a detail!

There’s nothing quite like starting the week in New York City, especially when you can wake up to the downtown charm at 57 Thompson Street, 3A. West Soho is dream-like and quaint on a Monday morning and 57 Thompson Street echoes that with eastern light streaming through the over-sized arched window and exposed brick throughout. Should the office be your destination this morning, 57 Thompson Street, 3A is a short walk to every subway line. But why leave? Everything you need to have the perfect New York City day is right here.

The living room is quiet and peaceful – high ceilings and hardwood floors evoke quintessential pre-war charm. Should you wish to work from home it’s easy to do so in an apartment like this. Amid so many small cafes and coffee shops in West Soho, don’t forget to grab coffee before starting the day. Head over to About Coffee on Sullivan Street for a latte and pastry – no tourists to dodge here on the quieter West Soho blocks. There’s also Ground Support Cafe just around the corner, where you can bring your laptop and grab a table for a change of pace while working from home. The delicious grilled cheese with tomato and basil is the perfect accompaniment to the afternoon.

Boutiques are plentiful in West Soho so it’s easy to get distracted while strolling the neighborhood’s blocks. Just a couple blocks west, you’ll find the most established of fashion houses, such as Céline and Longchamp. Fancy a French sweet over a French frock? Ladurée on West Broadway is the perfect late afternoon pick-me-up. “What to do tonight?” is an easily answered question in the always vibrant Soho neighborhood. For those who prefer a casual dinner on a weekday evening, why not make a reservation at the intimate subterranean French bistro Cocotte? The more ambitious might grab a cocktail at the lounge of the neighborhood favorite Sixty Soho. Endless opportunities for entertainment coupled with the inviting charm of West Soho – how could you live any place else besides 57 Thompson Street, 3A?
