Adie Kriegstein may be one of the few for whom real estate wasn’t a fall back career. After graduating Colgate University, she quickly made a name for herself as a rock star rookie broker. Her first sale was a 2-bedroom condo on the Upper East Side for over $1 million and since then, Adie hasn’t slowed down, recently closing on her first townhouse on the Upper West Side for $5.2 million. During her eight years in the business, Adie has already accrued over $141 million in sales. Here are Adie’s answers to Ten questions:
1. What did you do before you found this career?
I jumped right into real estate directly after finishing college at Colgate University, where I majored in Geology and minored in Geography.
2. What has been the highlight of your career? 
About 1 year into the business, when I was working at another firm, Patrick Lilly, the firm’s top agent approached me and asked if I wanted to work with him as an agent on his team. It was a wonderful opportunity and I have been with him for about 7 years now.
3. What is your greatest daily challenge?
Finding out how to best balance my time between my personal life and my professional life, which I feel in this industry is a constant challenge.
4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I hope to be a top-producing agent living and working in Manhattan with a firmly established business.
5. Where do you find inspiration?
As an agent, I get the greatest satisfaction from knowing I have truly helped someone navigate the very complicated NYC Real Estate Market. For many people, the purchase of a home is one of the biggest and most important decisions they will make in their lives. Knowing I have, in some manner, assisted them in achieving this goal spurs me towards continuing to do more. In a way, I see it as a job well done on my part; a way for me to help others. I see myself as a ‘giver in life’, and have been told by customers and friends alike that this is my nature. My job as a real estate agent is an extension of me and so I strive to do all that I can, whenever possible, for my customers, friends and family.
6. Name one thing we might not know about you.
I love adventure and am up for anything: traveling, extreme sports or getting dirty digging up dinosaur bones!
7. What’s your favorite movie or book?
The City of Dreams book series by Beverly Swerling, which is about the history of New York beginning with New Amsterdam and ending in modern times.
8. What do you do in your free time?
I have a 9 year old Yellow Lab who is a Therapy Dog and we volunteer weekly together at various institutions around the neighborhood. I also love to bake and knit.
9. What’s your favorite restaurant?
One of the things I love the most about living in the City is that there is always an endless supply of new restaurants to try. That said, a dinner at BLT Fish is always amazing
10. Tell me something about your home.
I have a wall mounted skeleton of a juvenile Lambeosaur (Duckbill) dinosaur that I found 6 years ago digging with my Father on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation in Montana.
