Penthouse With Glass Atrium

Curbed // Sep 12, 2016

This penthouse apartment, perched atop a turn-of-the-20th-century building within the Soho Cast-Iron Historic District, belies its location with its ultra-modern interiors. The brokerbabble calls the residence “avant-garde,” which is actually kind of fitting; there are unique design elements throughout, including a suspended fireplace in the living room (it’s wood-burning!), an austere Japanese-inspired master bathroom, and a concrete island in the kitchen. (There’s lots of concrete.)

But the triplex apartment’s coolest feature is probably its top level, which includes a glass atrium that opens up onto 2,100 square feet of outdoor space. There’s an enclosed patio of sorts, and a spiral staircase leading to an expansive roof deck with views of the surrounding Soho buildings.

The listing touts the pad as “an opportunity to transform an incredible loft canvas or maintain the existing configuration” (though we hope prospective buyers would leave that incredible roof alone). The asking price for all of this: $6.895 million.
