Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent Are Listing Their Greenwich Village Apartment

Plenty of people would love to have Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent design their home—which is what makes a New York abode the couple is selling such a draw. The designers put a one-bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village on the market for $800,000 on September 4, Architectural Digest has learned, and as an added bonus, Berkus and Brent staged the space themselves and are offering the option to purchase the apartment fully furnished.
The home’s decor is a “mix of vintage finds and pieces from their current collections,” according to a release, and the resulting aesthetic is the perfect marriage of each of the interior designers’ individual styles. In the cover story of Architectural Digest’s September 2015 issue, Berkus and Brent opened up about their joint approach to designing a space. “[My] instinct as a designer was always to add more to a room. One more piece. One more table,” Berkus told AD at the time. “One more object on top of that table. I love to surround myself with furniture and objects—they tell our stories and give us comfort.” By contrast, Brent said that before he met Berkus, his mantra was “Unless a piece is beautiful or functional, get rid of it.”
Located in a 19th-century brownstone in lower Manhattan, the dwelling for sale features many original details, including a marble fireplace in the high-ceilinged living room and large windows with built-in shutters. The main living space is painted a pristine white, and the furniture there includes a geometric marble dining table and two stylish chairs, a matching low coffee table, and several seating options. A cozy kitchen features numerous cabinets and shelves, plus a white subway tile backsplash. French doors lead from the main living area to the sunlit single bedroom, with its floor-to-ceiling built-in closets. An attached modern bathroom is lined with white subway tiles and boasts a combination bathtub and shower.
Berkus and Brent purchased both this unit and a nearby penthouse in 2013. In November 2015, they listed the penthouse for $10.5 million, eventually selling it for $9.8 million in June 2016. That same year, they purchased a $2.36 million four-bedroom home in West Hollywood, which they recently sold. They now reside full-time in New York City with their daughter, Poppy, and son, Oskar.
