Everything feels fresher with the arrival of spring in New York City. It’s more than just the fresh air flowing through windows finally open again after many months of subzero winter temps. It’s more than the return of the café tables on city sidewalks in the Village and Upper West Side; more than the fragrance of the cherry and dogwood blossoms in the park. We all feel the urge for cleansing, renewal and refreshment. I, for one have started on a fresh juice cleanse (well, okay, maybe it’s just a growing Juice Press obsession) along with switching out winter and summer wardrobes and the gratification from doing some spring cleaning and pulling my bicycle out of storage.
What I love most about this city in spring are the unmistakable signs of rejuvenation that come with the new season along with the annual cleansing and refreshing rituals that help simplify things in my life. Just like a tall glass of fresh squeezed juice and a bike ride along Hudson River Park, I seize the opportunity to reassess and refresh — purging out the old to help make way for the new.
Spring is the perfect time to revisit properties in our databases which haven’t been seen in person for some time. It’s amazing how much things can change in a neighborhood, a building or even in an individual unit over the course of a few years. Taking time to check in with some of these properties helps get a bead on the renovated and restored. What better time than when the air smells sweet and the sun shines warmly, to take a ride and see what area may be experiencing its own renaissance?
In a city with tens of thousands of listings, it’s key to have a current list with fresh market and property information to zero in on specific needs. This is especially important given the number of public real estate listing databases with stale or dated information, the new development websites that fail to keep their availabilities up-to-date, and a constantly moving inventory that changes daily. By cleansing the apartment search process, it allows you to focus on only the most vital, blossoming opportunities and in essence, helps alleviate what is sometimes considered an overwhelming decision-making process. The secret to staying healthy and at the top of one’s game is to minimize any unnecessary stress.
And so, with all these spring rituals in full swing, I join the rest of the city in taking a deep breath of fresh air and committing anew to providing the best experience to buyers and sellers here in the Big Apple. Mmmmm. Apple, ginger, Spirulina smoothie anyone?
