Jason Walker may have represented properties in some of NYC’s most exclusive buildings, including The Dakota, The Plaza, and a majority of Downtown’s elite addresses, but he’s quick to point out that he’s not above working with buyers and sellers at all price points. “I do not treat real estate like it is just the sale or purchase of a property. It is about a lifestyle, and being passionate about helping others. I am not in this for a quick hit, I focus on the long-term” he says.
Top real estate agent in New York Jason Walker was originally recruited by Douglas Elliman’s CEO, Dottie Herman, for his ability to deliver results and his ‘out of the box thinking’. In his first year with Elliman, Jason earned the elite ‘Rookie of the Year’ award, setting him apart from thousands of other agents. Jason explains, “Although there is no crystal ball when it comes to real estate, I have an ‘educated instinct’. I know the properties, the neighborhoods, and the players involved. My knowledge of values, price points, and process is incredibly accurate.”
Market knowledge and advanced negotiation skills are just the basics, according to Jason. “It’s about playing a critical role in a customer or client’s life for however long they need you. When you break it down, ultimately this is a service industry. Whatever the outcome may be, it is my job to be reliable, focused, and more importantly to negotiate a successful transaction,” he says. “I am intimately involved in my clients’ lives for several months as an advisor, friend, and sometimes adjunct therapist. It is no secret that buying and selling real estate can be overwhelming and stressful. I am keen on managing all scenarios and expectations. I spend a tremendous amount of time working hard; to make sure the experience is seamless, possibly even fun.”
Those who work with Jason take notice of his impeccable attention to detail, his seemingly endless supply of energy, and his incomparable knowledge of NYC. Not surprisingly, they refer others to him in droves. It is those referrals, and those repeat clients that have solidified Jason as part of the upper echelon of real estate brokers in the City.
His accolades include being named to the Top 1% of Real Estate Professionals Nationwide, and being ranked as one of the most successful Brokers in NYC by the Wall Street Journal, with more than $1 Billion in New York City real estate sold.
Yet, for someone at the top of the most competitive real estate markets in the world, who counts celebrities and global investors as his friends, Jason still refuses to let his track record go to his head. “I may be selling some of the most expensive real estate in the world, but I’m not above taking out the garbage ahead of an open house, or walking a client’s dog prior to showing their property. To remain at the top you have to be all encompassing, willing to do whatever is necessary, and readily available. This is a 365 day a year job, and it is often all hours. Recently, I met a customer at 1:45AM, with a flash light in one hand, and CAD drawings in the other, to show one of my New Development units. The beauty is that when you truly live this lifestyle, and you’re passionate, it doesn’t feel like work, it is just a part of you, and I truly love it.”
