Bruce A. Beal, Jr. is President and a general partner of Related Companies. Related is the nation’s preeminent developer of luxury residential properties. Over a decade ago, the firm pioneered the concept of commissioning celebrated architects to design residential properties by selecting Robert A.M. Stern to plan his firm’s first luxury condominium, The Chatham. The company’s portfolio of residential projects, including such recent developments as One Madison, Superior Ink, The Caledonia, The Harrison and The Brompton, stand as significant additions to the fabric of New York. On Manhattan’s West Side, Related is developing a new 28-acre epicenter of commerce, culture and community at Hudson Yards. Related owns a partnership stake in CORE and is working with Shaun Osher and CORE’s leadership team to further expand the firm’s brand and offerings throughout New York City.
Mr. Beal joined Related in 1995 and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day development process for projects across all asset classes throughout the country including acquisition, finance and construction activities. In addition, Mr. Beal oversees Related’s existing operating portfolio and the company’s affordable housing initiatives.
Mr. Beal is a trustee for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, the Citizens Budget Commission, St. Bernard’s School and Diller-Quaile School of Music. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Preservation Corporation and the Friends of the High Line, the Advisory Board of Harvard University’s Taubman Center for State and Local Government and REBNY’s Executive Committee, Board of Governors and Housing Committee. Mr. Beal graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
