The Financial District has morphed into one of the fastest growing residential neighborhoods in New York City, with a vibrant community of full-time residents complimenting the Wall Streeters who flock to the area during business hours. We think this photo, from the roof deck of 90 William Street, perfectly illustrates the old and new “FiDi.” Daybeds, greenery, skyscrapers and the old Federal Reserve — the city’s past, present and future on full view in an ever-changing New York.

The Financial District is one of the fastest-growing residential neighborhoods in New York City, but one thing the neighborhood isn’t known for is lofty, open-plan apartments (blame the wave of office building conversions, which typically involve low ceilings and small rooms). For those looking for a lofty starter home in downtown Manhattan, might we suggest this William Street studio? Though at 845 square feet, this studio is bigger than most one-bedroom apartments in new developments. In fact, the open loft with beamed ceilings can be easily converted into a large one-bedroom residence.

Located on the 16th floor of the full-service Be@William building, The apartment sports a clean white look, and features white lacquer cabinets, integrated custom panel appliances, under-counter puck lighting and a large walk-in closet. And though FiDi is becoming a bustling and lively neighborhood, people who prefer the indoors can appreciate this residence as well: Be@William offers amenities such as a state-of-the-art rooftop fitness center and the Be@spot Sky Lounge, with entertainment center, pool table and wi-fi.
